Hegg Nominated For the College Football Hall of Fame

Former Truman Bulldog quarterback Chris Hegg is among the Division II nominees for the College Football Hall of Fame announced this week by the National Football Foundation. While playing for then-Northeast Missouri State, Hegg set a school record with 3,741 passing yards in 1985 with 32 touchdown passes in earning First Team All-America honors. In his signature game, Hegg attempted a school record 70 passing attempts against Central State and threw for 447 yards in a classic 46-45 victory at Stokes Stadium.

After graduating from Truman State, Hegg was drafted in 1987 by the Atlanta Falcons. He passed away in April.
