HEALTH INSURANCE FOR RANDOLPH CO. EMPLOYEES EXPECTED TO JUMP 20 PERCENT

As Randolph County officials continue to work on the budget for the new year, County Clerk Will Ellis says they have run into a significant cost increase in health insurance.
Ellis, who is the chief budget officer, is looking at the best way to address the hike.
Randolph County is not in a unique situation.
Despite the increase in health insurance costs, Ellis says the plan is still to look at a pay increase for county employees. Overall, health insurance costs Randolph County approximately $750,000 annually. About 100 people are on the county health insurance.
