A Hartsburg man suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 63, south of Ashland, around 4:20 Wednesday morning. The State Highway Patrol says 73-year-old Melvin Heath was headed southbound, when he was rear-ended by a car driven by 35-year-old James Knapp of Jefferson City. Both vehicles skidded off the highway and hit a sign. Heath’s SUV then hit a tree. He was taken to Columbia. Knapp’s car hit an embankment and overturned. He had no reported injuries.
