Harrisburg Visits Fayette

Two of the top teams in the Lewis and Clark Conference meet Friday night in Fayette, as the Falcons host 6th-ranked Harrisburg. The Bulldogs are 6-0 overall, and 3-0 in the league, while Fayette is 5-1 and 3-1. Harrisburg head coach Steve Hopkins talked about hitting the toughest part of the schedule, with Scotland County and Marceline both coming up after this one.

This is also a district matchup, with Harrisburg first and Fayette third in the standing this week. Hopkins says Fayette has some phenomenal players, but they can’t be starstruck.

Since suffering a 37-0 loss to Marceline in week four, Fayette has rattled off two straight wins in which they combined to score 104 points. Fayette head coach Mike Thompson says quarterback Ben Wells has been one of the main keys to their offense’s success this season.

Fayette’s defense will have to contend with a Harrisburg offense that averages 40 points a game and has committed only six turnovers. Thompson discusses the keys to slowing down the Bulldogs.

Harrisburg beat Fayette for the first time in eight tries last season, 30-20.

J.B. Connoley and Colin Schowe will have the broadcast, with the studio pregame starting at 6:25, and live to the stadium at 6:40, on KRES and centralmoinfo.com.
