Harrisburg Sweeps Westran; Boys Tied for First in LCC

Harrisburg basketball swept a home doubleheader versus Westran Friday.

The Bulldog boys remained undefeated in conference with a 54-47 victory. Harrisburg erased a 35-31 deficit late in the third quarter.

Eric Duick with the calls on KIRK and centralmoinfo.com. Senior Tanner Lanes landed a game-high 24 points. Harrisburg trailed 16-6 early, but the Bulldogs held the Hornets to two points in the second quarter. Kyle Fisher’s squad entered the half with a 26–22 advantage.

The Hornets sit 21-3 after their first Lewis and Clark loss. Harrisburg limited Westran standout Langden Kitchen to 15 points.

The Harrisburg girls cruised past Westran 52-23. Harrisburg head coach Ryan Richardson was pleased with his team’s balanced scoring effort.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Emma Fischer with 18 points. Charlea Winscott added 12. Despite the defeat, Westran head coach Alex Thomas was proud of his team for continuing to battle late in the game.

Maci Crutchfield paced the Lady Hornets with eight points. Harrisburg improves to 13-11 on the year and 4-2 in LCC play. Westran falls to 2-21 and 1-4 in the conference.
