The Harrisburg and Moberly basketball teams engaged in two battles Monday night, with the Lady Spartans winning 39-34, and the Bulldogs coming back from nine down in the second half to win 59-54 in overtime. In the girls game, Moberly’s Kennedy Messer led all scorers with 13, including a pair of big threes in the fourth quarter.

Moberly is now 2-0, and will host Macon as part of a doubleheader Thursday night on The Captain. Harrisburg falls to 1-2, and plays in the Centralia Tournament next.

Harrisburg’s boys trailed by seven at halftime. Tanner Lanes led the Bulldogs with 15 points, including ten after halftime as part of their comeback win.

After being tied at 45 at the end of regulation, the Harrisburg boys scored the first 12 points of overtime to go up 57-45 with 45 seconds left, before Moberly cut the margin to as few as four.
