HARRISBURG GIRLS XC THRIVING TWO YEARS AFTER BUS CRASH – STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY

Harrisburg girls cross country will compete in the Class 1 state championship at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia Saturday morning. Head coach Corey Whitaker notes the Bulldogs overcame an injury to a top five runner the day before districts.
Harrisburg senior Zoe Carr paced Whitaker’s Lady Bulldogs with a ninth place finish at districts.
Junior Baylie Combs crossed 11th at districts and senior Alee Thornhill claimed 14th. Whitaker discusses Harrisburg’s expectations at state.

The Class 1 state championship starts at 10:10am Saturday. Harrisburg’s roster also includes senior Brooke Sublett, juniors Olivia Fischer and Jessica Gardiner, and sophomore Brooklyn Vassar.
