Harrisburg English Teacher Picks Up National Award

A Harrisburg High School English Teacher received a prestigious award last month. Dr. Lara Dieckmann was one of 17 national recipients of the High School Teacher of Excellence Award at the National Council of English Teachers Conference last November. Dieckmann calls this award very gratifying.

Dieckmann has been teaching for 13 years. She says she comes from a long line of educators.
In addition to teaching at Harrisburg, Dieckmann also helps out student teachers at the University of Missouri, and will also teach a class this spring teaching the writing methods course for pre-service English education majors.
