Harrisburg Beats Marceline For Homecoming

Harrisburg’s Caleb Sager ran for two touchdowns and caught another one in a 28-20 Homecoming win over Marceline Friday night.

J.B. Connoley with the call on Glory 97.3 and centralmoinfo.com. That score made it 22-0 midway through the third quarter before Marceline quarterback Dax Thomas got the Tigers on the board.

Thomas completed 8 of 15 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown, and carried the ball 12 times for 140 yards and a score. Sager had his second rushing touchdown from 6 yards out with just over two minutes left to put Harrisburg up 14. Marceline answered a minute later, but could not recover the onside kick, and Harrisburg ran out the clock. Bulldogs Coach Brennan Claas talked about Sager’s play.

Marceline coach Joey Peterson was proud of the finish, but said his team needed a better start.

Harrisburg is 1-2, 1-0 in the Lewis and Clark Conference, and will host Milan next week. Marceline is 0-3, 0-1, and will host Hogan Prep.
