Hancock holds the Mizzou record in the pole vault at 17-feet, 7-and-a-half inches set during the 2011 indoor season. Hancock remembers the milestone vault occured at the final home indoor meet of his senior year….
Brian Hancock still holds the Class 2 state record in the pole vault at 16-feet, 4-inches. The Monroe City native was a state champion in the sport all four years. Hancock is the head track and field coach at Battle High School in Columbia and has been since the school district started seven years ago.
