The Hallsville School Board will continue to discuss a new school resource officer plan for the school district. The district’s cost-share plan with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office expired in December. The City of Hallsville quickly submitted a new plan for the city police department to provide a school resource officer. Hallsville School District Director of Communications Kari Yeagy said the school board chose to table the discussion to a future meeting in order to iron-out some of the details of the plan. Yeagy says the board also wanted to see what other options may arise.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office ended its School Resource Officer agreement due to staffing issues. Yeagy explains what the district wants to see from the new school resource officer.

The Hallsville School Board will continue discussion on the plan at the next meeting on January 20th.
