Hallsville Returns Veteran Leadership for 2021 Season
The first two seasons of Justin Conyers’ tenure as Hallsville’s head football coach have yielded the program’s first two district championships. Expectations for this season are just as high with a significant number of players returning from last season’s 7-5 squad. Among those key returners is senior quarterback Tyger Cobb. Conyers says Cobb continues to grow heading into his second year as the team’s starting quarterback.
The Indians will also return junior running back Harrison Fowler who was injured early in the first quarter of the team’s Class 2 Quarterfinal contest against Palmyra last season. Conyers says Fowler is hungry to return to the field.
Fowler rushed for over 1,200 yards during the 2020 season. Hallsville also features a significant amount of returners on the defensive side of the ball.
The Indians will start the 2021 season where the last one ended when they visit Palmya August 27th. They follow that up with a week two showdown with Boone County rival Centralia and will face a challenging schedule from the Tri-County Conference. Conyers says they’re ready to embrace the challenging schedule.
Hallsville will open conference play in Week Three when they host Versailles. You can hear our full interview with coach Conyers along with other area coaches on our Kickoff Show August 25th beginning at 5:35 pm on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com
