Representative Cheri Toalson Reisch of Hallsville has spent a fair portion of the 2020 Missouri Legislative Session working to pass a bill which would allow for Hallsville to add a public safety tax on the next election ballot. Toalson Reisch says a recent public hearing on her bill yielded some good news.

Other cities looking into similar bills include Lincoln and Clinton. Toalson Reisch is optimistic combining these bills will yield good results.

The bill would allow the citizens of Hallsville vote on whether to add a sales tax of up to half-a-cent to help fund public safety.
