Greyhounds Win Region 16 Title
The Moberly Greyhounds erased a 13-point second half deficit to beat Mineral Area 86-82 in the Region 16 men’s championship game Saturday night in Jefferson City. Sincere Parker, who was named the Region’s Player of the Year, pulled the Hounds even late.
J.B. Connoley with the call on KWIX and centralmoinfo.com. Moberly lead 72-69 before Brett Thompson’s triple with three seconds left force overtime. Parker’s free throws iced the game late in overtime.
Parker’s 26 led all scorers.
James Dent had 16. Tyren Moore and Michael Thomas each had 14. Jimmy Bell had 12. Moore spoke about bouncing back from a rough start.

Moberly is 26-6, and has won ten straight. They will host the winner of Monday’s Triton-Kankakee game next Saturday with an automatic berth in the national tournament on the line. Mineral Area is 24-7, and will have to wait to see if an at-large invitation has their name on it.
