Greyhounds Open Season This Weekend

The Moberly Greyhounds open their 15th season under head coach Pat Smith this weekend with the Orscheln Classic. Smith compares this year’s edition of the Greyhounds to last year’s 30-4 squad.

He says the defense is still a work in progress.

With Ade Popoola out for the year with a torn rotator cuff, the only returning regular is Xavier Sykes, who has been battling plantar fasciitis.

The Greyhounds also have five juco transfers on this year’s team.

The Greyhounds were ranked 20th in the NJCAA’s preseason rankings. Moberly opens with Link Year Prep Friday night at 7. Our first broadcast is Saturday night against Butler County of Kansas, as part of a doubleheader with the women playing Lincoln Trail.
