Greyhounds Baseball Opens Season in Illinois

The Moberly Greyhounds baseball team starts it second season Thursday afternoon in Fairfield, Illinois, against Frontier Community College. Coach Chris Fletcher…

The Bobcats took three of four last weekend from Wallace State-Hanceville out of Alabama. They’ll play a single game Thursday, take Friday off, and play two on Saturday. The Greyhounds return 28 players from a season ago, and added 17 new recruits. Fletcher says having players return for a second season makes an astronomical difference.

The offense is led by returning all-region players infielders Jordan Green and Kaden Lawson, outfielders Leyton Bain and Joey Marcinkiewicz, and catcher Jack Prewett.

Fletcher’s goal is for the team to be competitive each game.

The Greyhounds will host the Region 16 Tournament in the first weekend of May. The first home games will be March First and Second against Milwaukee Tech, and Region 16 play starts March 23rd at East Central.
