Governor Mike Parson Discussed Rural Priorities in State of the State Address

Governor Mike Parson’s State of the State address included a 52-billion dollar budget proposal for the state, with 93 million dollars for low volume rural roads. Representative Peggy McGaugh of Carrollton appreciates Parson’s approach.

Parson also proposed more than five million dollars in funding for Missouri River flood resiliency. McGaugh says that serves an important local need along the river.

McGaugh filed a bill last year which created the Flood Resiliency Act and Flood Resiliency Program in Missouri. The bill passed during the final days of the legislative session.
