Glasgow Boys Outlast Higbee to Capture Class 1 District 10 Title

The Glasgow Yellowjackets captured their first district title since 2017 with a 70-60 victory over the Higbee Tigers. The Yellowjackets jumped out to a 21-6 lead after the end of one and led by as much as 18 points early in the second. Derek Rockett willed the Tigers back into the contest.

Steven Findley Jr with the calls on KWIX and Rockett scored 14 of Higbee’s 18 points in the quarter. The Tigers would claw their way back in the second half, bringing the deficit to just one point at the end of three. Will Spillman knocked down his first and only three of the night in a big moment in the fourth.

Finding themselves suddenly trailing, junior Jordan Fuemmeler and senior Edris Hamilton put on a scoring clinic in the final frame to lead their team to the district title.

Fuemmeler finished with 26 points while Hamilton matched his teammate with a 23-point night. Coach Mick Cropp spoke about his two leading scorers.

Rockett’s 37-point performance followed up a 39-point performance from the district semifinal. Coach Burton spoke about his sensational junior.

Higbee finishes the season CLAA co-champions and runners-up in the district with a 24-5 record. Glasgow will face Leeton from district nine in the sectionals round.
