A product of Bowling Green High School’s softball program is returning home to Missouri. After spending her freshman season at Kentucky, Gabi Deters is transferring to Mizzou. Deters will have a full four years of eligibility with the Tigers but will have to redshirt for the 2021 season. During her freshman season at Kentucky, Deters started nine times and appeared in 21 total games for the Wildcats. She batted .259 while playing third base and catcher for Kentucky. Deters was a driving force behind back-to-back state titles for Bowling Green in 2017 and 2018. She was named the 2017-18 Gatorade Missouri Softball Player of the Year and was ranked as the number 41 prospect in the country by Extra Innings Softball. During her senior season at Bowling Green, Deters hit .430 and belted eleven home runs. Her career of 38 homers ranks fourth all-time in the state of Missouri.
