Fred Smith Reflects on 2016 Boonville Baseball Team

Voters at centralmoinfo.com named the 2016 Boonville squad as our area’s Baseball Team of the Decade. The Pirates went 26-6, and made it to the Class 4 state title game before losing to MICDS. Fred Smith was the coach, and said being named the team of the decade is quite an honor.
Smith said 2016 was a storybook year.
The Pirates faced Fulton in the semifinals.
Smith talked about the players that led that team.
Smith stays in touch with many of the players.
