Columbia Police took four people into custody following two shooting incidents overnight. A speeding vehicle failed to stop for police shortly after 1 Friday morning near Highland Drive. People nearby reported hearing shots fired while the chase went on. When the vehicle finally stopped in the 25 hundred block of Providence, the driver and passenger tried to flee on foot. Around 4:20, police were called to a burglary in progress in the 100 block of Garth. While responding, police were notified shots had been fired. A suspect in the burglary went to the hospital, while two other suspects were detained.
