For the third time in his head coaching career, Curtis Jasper will lead a team to the Show-Me Bowl when his Joplin Eagles play DeSmet this Saturday afternoon at Faurot Field in Columbia. Jasper previously guided Westran to title games in 2010 and 2014. He says one obvious factor is the same….

Jasper says the previous championship game experiences with Westran will help him this week….

Jasper’s Westran teams lost both championship games to Valle Catholic. In 2010, the Hornets came up just short in overtime 22-21 and lost in 2014 by a score of 49-25.

Jasper’s Joplin team is 13-0. His offense is averaging 49 points per game….

In four playoff wins, the Eagles averaged 53 points per game. Curtis Jasper and Joplin will play top ranked DeSmet Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00. There is another Westran connection to the championship games in Columbia on Saturday. Southwest Livingston coach Oren Magruder is a Westran graduate. His Wildcats will play Mound City for the 8-man title on Saturday at 11:00.
