Former Salisbury Coach, Athletic Director, And Official John Hoover Obituary

Former Salisbury High School athletic director, teacher, and coach, 80-year old John Hoover, died Tuesday at his home. Hoover graduated from Liberty High School in Browning in 1960 and attended the University of Missouri, where he played baseball for Norm Stewart and John “Hi” Simmons. Upon graduation from MU Hoover moved to Salisbury where he spent his career in education, both for Salisbury High and St. Joseph Catholic School. He also officiated nine different sports. The new track facility at Salisbury is named for Hoover.

The funeral for John Hoover will be Tuesday at 11:00, at Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9 am until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 pm at the Purdin Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Salisbury Athletic Booster
