Randolph County Conservation Agent Zack Barnes is encouraging hunters to keep safety as the top priority, during the firearms deer season that began Saturday morning. Barnes says that includes wearing hunter orange, and making sure you follow all of the rules if you are using a tree stand.

And after harvesting a deer, a hunter does have some specific responsibilities.

As of 9:30 Saturday morning, over 8,000 deer had already been harvested, and telechecked across the state.
The firearms deer season runs through November 26th.
