Fayette Superintendent Comments On Transition to Four-Day School Week
December 3, 2019 7:06AM CST
As previously reported, the Fayette School Board voted to implement a four-day school week next year. Fayette Superintendent Jill Wiseman notes four board members voted in favor and two were opposed.
Wiseman says 25 percent of Fayette’s staff nears retirement, and attracting teachers played a big role in the switch to a four-day week.
The latest Fayette School Board meeting opened with a public comment period on the potential four-day week before the board elected to begin four-day weeks in 2020-21.
