Less than a month after the release of its annual baseline projections, the University of Missouri’s Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute has announced an updated forecast in the wake of coronavirus. Director Pat Westhoff says while uncertainty is still high, the prospect of a sharp drop in farm income is evident.

One area of uncertainty is the extent to which livestock supply chains could back up if processing plants continue to shutter as a result of clustered outbreaks of Covid-19 among their employees.
