Evergy Seeking Proposals For Energy Generation

Evergy announced Wednesday it’s seeking proposals to buy or contract for up to 1,240 megawatts of energy resources that will be in service by 2026. Resources must be at least 50 megawatts and interconnect to the Southwest Power Pool. The company prefers projects located in Kansas and Missouri, particularly within Evergy’s service area. Proposals are due by February 28th. Selected proposals are subject to appropriate regulatory approval. Evergy says it plans to add more than 3,500 megawatts of renewable energy, and retire more than 1,900 megawatts of coal-based generation in the next decade.
