EPA Seeks Flexibility For Herbicide Registrations

Amid efforts to roll back the re-registration of atrazine and other herbicides authorized by the Environmental Protection Agency, administrator Michael Regan is calling for more flexibility and time for EPA to do its job.  Regan says recent court decisions are hemming in EPA’s ability to review products needed by farmers.

He’s also calling on Congress to provide more funding to allow quicker review of future products and formulations.

EPA Administrator Michael Regan spoke to farm reporters after last week’s roundtable at a farm in Eastern Kansas, where several panelists called on EPA to not revoke the registration for atrazine that was granted in September 2020.
