Representative Cheri Toalson Reisch’s Employer Freedom Bill is moving on to the Senate. The Hallsville Republican’s bill was approved by the Missouri House of Representatives this past week. The bill would allow ex-felons to be able to work in places which sell alcohol and lottery tickets. Toalson Reisch says the current Missouri law is very restrictive.

The legislation would also eliminate a requirement for employers seeking to hire such prospective employees.

The goal of this legislation is to help these felons find steady work after being released from prison. Toalson Reisch filed similar legislation last year which passed through the House but failed to cross the finish line in the Senate.
