Education Bill Headed to the Governor’s Desk

Last week, the General Assembly sent a private school tax credit bill to the governor. Senator Cindy O’Laughlin says the proposal had been held up in a Senate committee.

The Shelbina Republican says it was surprising how quickly the bill went through on the Senate floor.

O’Laughlin outlines one of the provisions that’s included in the bill.

Only students living in a city with a population of 30,000 or more would qualify. The bill also includes an increase in funding for transportation for districts. The legislative session wraps up Friday.
