Eagan Leaving Drury For Lindenwood
Amy Eagan gets her shot at the Division 1 level. The Shelby County native and Truman State Hall of Famer has been named the next Women’s Basketball Coach at Lindenwood University in St. Charles.
Eagan went 87-9 (.888) during her three years at Drury and guided the Lady Panthers to a Great Lakes Valley Conference championship in all three of her seasons. She was named the NCAA-II Coach of the Year by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association in 2021 and was the GLVC Coach of the Year in 2023. Eagan arrived at Drury as an assistant coach in 2019, leaving her post as the head coach of her alma mater, Truman State. In six seasons with the Bulldogs, she became the program’s all-time leader in career coaching wins at 111-62. In her final season as head coach at Truman State in 2018-19, she led the Bulldogs to a 23-8 record, a 13-5 record in the GLVC, and an NCAA-II tournament appearance. It was the best finish in the program’s 46-year history. In 2014, Eagan guided Truman State to a GLVC championship.
Eagan also had a stellar playing career at Truman State. She was a four-time selection to the All-MIAA team and was named an honorable mention All-American after the 1998-99 season. As a high school player, Eagan was an All-State selection while playing at South Shelby High School.
The Lindenwood women’s basketball team only won two games in the first season at the Division 1 level, with one win in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Eagan will take a career record of 275-151 to Lindenwood.
