Drury Spoils Truman Comeback-Bulldog Women Lose Finale

The game was tied at 87 when the Panthers finished with a lay-in and one-of-two free throws and Bulldogs came up empty on their final two possessions. Truman coach Jeff Horner said falling behind 49-35 at halftime was the problem.

Xavier Hall led five Bulldogs in double figures with 18. Truman wraps up the regular season 15-13 and 12-8 in GLVC play. The loss knocks the ‘Dogs to the four seed and a 6:00 game next Friday against William Jewell in the GLVC Tournament in St. Charles. Former Truman coach Chris Foster and Drury finish the season 15-13 and 8-12 in the league.

In her final game in a Bulldog uniform, Ellie Weltha finished with 22 points. She ends up with the 4th most points in Truman history with 1,686. She finishes 2nd in rebounds with 1,099. Truman wraps up the season 7-21 and 4-18 in the GLVC.
