Drought Returns To Three NEMO Counties

Moderate drought is back in parts of three Northeast Missouri counties.  The weekly USDA Drought Monitor indicates the resumption of the first stage of drought conditions in southeast Monroe, southwest Ralls, and northeastern Audrain counties.  Eastern Ralls and northern Pike counties are now in abnormal dryness.

Conditions continued improving in Southern Missouri after snowfall earlier in the week.  Bollinger, Butler, Dunklin, Mississippi, Ozark, Pemiscot, Ripley, Taney, Wayne, eastern Carter, and most of Howell and Oregon counties exited abnormal dryness, as well as the southern quarter of Perry County.    While moderate drought increased in Missouri to 15.6 percent of the state this week, abnormal dryness decreased by 4.3 points to 39.6 percent.
