Drought Enters Northwest Missouri

Five Northwest Missouri counties have now entered moderate drought in the weekly update to the monitor. As of Tuesday, all of Holt County along with most of Andrew, Atchison, and Buchanan, and southwestern Nodaway counties, are in the first stage of drought conditions. This accounts for 2.2 percent of the state’s area. No other changes were reported this week, leaving 36.2 percent of Missouri in some degree of excessive dryness.
