Dogs Versus Cats-Top GLVC Defense Versus Top Offense When Truman Hosts McKendree

21st ranked Truman looks to stay perfect in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in a Senior Day matchup with McKendree at Stokes Stadium this Saturday. Coach Gregg Nesbitt is proud that his Bulldogs’ 7-1 record has come against the fifth toughest schedule in Division II….

McKendree will come to Kirksville with a record of 5-4 and 2-3 in the GLVC. The Bearcats bring the GLVC’s top ranked offense against Truman’s top ranked defense. Coach Mike Babcock’s Bearcats average 39 points and 481 yards per game….

Bearcat quarterback Turner Pullen leads all of Division II football with 3,063 passing yards and is tied for 2nd with 28 touchdowns. The Bulldog defense is giving up just under 18 points per game. On the flip side, McKendree’s defense is giving up almost 39 points per game and Truman’s offense is coming off it’s most productive day with 59 points and 500 yards at Quincy. Denim Cook ran for 154 yards and scored four touchdowns. Nesbitt says the true freshman is emerging in a competitive battle for the second spot behind Shamar Griffith….

Griffith is coming off a career high 177 yards rushing. Babcock says they will need to run the football…

The Bulldogs are going for the program’s first eight-game winning streak since 1994.
