The Marion County Fair is taking place through Saturday at Flower City Park in Palmyra. Fair activities got underway this past Saturday with the fair parade and a car show. For the rest of the week a variety of events will entertain all ages. Marion County Fair Coordinator Michele Hopson describes what its like to organize the fair every year.

Events like the queen contest, junior miss contest, and the pet show were canceled due to concerns with COVID-19. However, Hopson says the fair’s livestock shows are still going strong this year.

One notable change at this year’s Marion County Fair is the cost of admission.

Organizers for the Marion County Fair have also placed several hand sanitation stations throughout the fairgrounds as a safety precaution. For more information on this year’s fair visit showmepalmyra.com.
