Death Investigation in Boone County

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a death on West Sycamore Hills Road north of Columbia. Shortly before 7 Saturday night, deputies were dispatched there on a report of an unresponsive man found in the roadway. The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. While he has been identified, his identity will not be released until next of kin have been notified. The sheriff’s department indicates that no information will be released at this time as to the possible cause or manner of death as this is an ongoing investigation.
