David was born June 22, 1949, to Price Courtland and Imae (Florence) Clark in Bowling Green, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Joyce North in 1970 in Peoria, Illinois. Gwen survives.

David grew up in Bowling Green and attended Bowling Green schools. He was a 1966 graduate of Bowling Green High School. After graduation, David went to work on Mosley Farms in Bowling Green. He later moved to Peoria, which is where he met Gwen. The family moved back to Bowling Green and David went to work at the Scherder Farms until an injury forced him to leave. At that time, the family moved back to Columbia and David went to work in maintenance for an Orthopedic Group, where he remained for 18 years, retiring in 1988. During his time there he also started a lawn care service that he maintained for many years.

David enjoyed watching western movies, listening to country music, spending time with his family, and hunting with Uncle Sam. He also enjoyed drinking coffee, traveling back and forth to Peoria, riding his Goldwing motorcycle, and returning to Bowling Green for the picnic at Mick’s Tavern.

David is survived by his wife, Gwen; daughter, Katherine Clark-Jones of Columbia; grandchildren, Cory Crenshaw and Austin Crenshaw; brother, Delbert Clark; sister, Sheila Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews.
