Darin Robert Hager
On July 1, 2024, our hearts were deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Darin Robert Hager, who left us at the age of 41.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. Visitation will be Sunday, July 7th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Darin was born on February 21, 1983, in Louisiana, Missouri to Bob and Sandy Hager. Never venturing far from home, he spent the majority of his adult life residing close to his parents and sister in Bowling Green, Missouri.
In 2001, Darin graduated from Bowling Green High School. Darin went on to attend Vatterott to learn his electrical trade. He was an electrician for around 20 years.
Darin was self-employed. He owned DH Electric and was a landlord. Darin was active with the Pike Country Fair board and was a member of the Jaycees. He was always there to lend his community a helping hand.
Darin worked hard and loved living life to the fullest during his free time. When he wasn’t working, Darin’s life was anything but boring. He spent his free time on side projects (often in his man cave), hanging out with family and friends, or at church. A few of his favorite activities included camping, traveling, being outside on his ATVs , taking care of his two dogs, Max and Harley, and going out to eat. He could often be found at Kitaros, Show Me’s, and his favorite restaurant–Chilis. Darin was the life of the party and didn’t know a stranger. He was an animated storyteller and shared his stories freely. His humor and wit brightened every room. He had an infectious laugh and a knack for witty one-liners.
Most importantly, Darin found immense joy in spending time with his only daughter Darion. Together, they enjoyed riding four wheelers and side by sides through the farm, watching movies in his man cave, playing the Wii, traveling and going out to eat. He absolutely loved being her dad for the past 15 years.
Darin is survived by his daughter, Darion Hager of Bowling Green, his girlfriend Desirea Vaidya and her children, his parents, Bob and Sandy Hager of Bowling Green, his brother Brian (Jennifer) Hager of O’Fallon, Missouri, his sister, Karen (Brian) Hortness of Bowling Green, four nieces, Hannah and Saige Hortness, Allie and Hailey Bray, one nephew, Brady Hager, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents, great aunts, great uncles and several cousins.
Darin especially will be remembered for wearing his heart on his sleeve. If he knew you, he loved you. In his memory, please go to Chilis, have a toast and enjoy a meal with your loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PALS Animal Shelter and Rescue in Troy, Missouri.
