Many Missourians are on edge as the coronavirus spreads into the Show-Me State. A Missouri House Special Committee on Disease Control and Prevention was recently formed to monitor the situation. Along with health concerns about the virus, Representative Kip Kendrick of Columbia says there are also concerns about how the virus will impact the state’s budgeting process.

Kendrick serves as the Ranking Minority Member on both the House Budget Committee and the Special Committee on Disease Control and Prevention. Kendrick says the economic impact the coronavirus could have requires monitoring.

State health officials are urging Missourians to use safe health practices such as washing hands regularly and avoiding touching their eyes and faces with unwashed hands in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
