Coronavirus Impacting Drinkwitz’s Transition as Mizzou Head Coach

There were always going to be transition challenges for new Missouri Tigers football coach Eliah Drinkwitz. However, the coronavirus has presented an unexpected challenge for him by canceling spring practices. Drinkwitz details the disadvantage this presents his staff as they prepare for their first year in charge of the Tigers.

The Tigers were able to get in three practices before the coronavirus canceled everything. Drinkwitz says they are still finding ways to meet with their players.

They are also instituting team and position meetings at this time. Drinkwitz says the coronavirus also presents challenges when it comes to game-planning for Mizzou’s scheduled season opener against Central Arkansas on September 5th.

Drinkwitz is coming off his first season as a college football head coach where he guided the Appalachian State Mountaineers to a 12-1 record.
