The coronavirus has postponed the April municipal election until June 2nd. The Sturgeon School District is seeking to pass a 3.5-million no-tax increase bond issue. Sturgeon School Superintendent Geoffrey Neill says the district was beginning to prepare for the potential of the issue passing.

Funds from the bond would go towards building improvements throughout the district. Neill says the election delay won’t significantly impact the schedule of any of the district’s construction projects.

The election postponement will also impact the Sturgeon School Board elections. All school board members will remain on the board until the election takes place in June.
