The Cooper County Public Health Center announced that one of its staff members has tested positive for COVID-19. A total of four clients exposed to that person will be notified by phone. That person was wearing a mask, and met with the public less than 15 minutes at a time. All other staff members have been tested, and the department hopes to have results back Monday. The clinic’s lobby will be locked for the upcoming week, and no new appointments will be scheduled for the week. Existing appointments should call when they arrive. WIC clients should use the front window this week. Death certificates are available as needed. Birth certificates can be obtained in neighboring counties. People needing tests should go to Mizzou’s drive-thru or Boone Hospital this week. The department is down to four people not in quarantine: two WIC nutrition staff members, one environmental staff member, and the administrator, who is also a nurse.
