Now that the archery deer season is over, the Missouri Department of Conservation, along with landowners in a number of counties, will be participating in an operation to obtain some important data dealing with the state’s deer herd. Macon County Conservation Agent Jared Kelly.

Kelly says a lot of valuable information is obtained.

Kelly says the age of the deer, and where it was taken are noted, and the lymph nodes of the animal are removed. This information helps set regulations for the next deer season.
