With firearms deer season beginning Saturday, conservation agents Kevin Lockard and Jessica Filla joined KWIXland This Morning last week. Lockard said there has been a reduction of Chronic Wasting Disease in the state of Missouri.

Precautions and testing continue. Lockard outlined the process for checking a harvested deer in a CWD county.

Lockard says many northeast Missouri counties are CWD counties, including Linn, Macon, Knox and Adair. Clark County has also been added to a positive CWD test in Iowa.
