Connie Lee (Rue) Bay, 74, of Curryville, was reunited with her beloved husband, Ron, on Thursday evening, August 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to the time of services at the funeral home.

Connie was born December 2, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles “Buck” Rue and Mabel Church. She was united in marriage to Ronald Bay on June 7, 2003 at their home in Curryville. Ron preceded her in death on March 21, 2024.

Although born in Iowa, Connie spent most of her life in Pike County, Missouri. As a child, she grew up in Clarksville, later moving to Bowling Green. She spent the last 25 years residing on her beloved farm in Curryville.

Connie had been employed at several different types of employment, finally ending up at Bowling Green Police Department, where she spent 22 years as the dispatch supervisor/records clerk, until she retired to tend to Ron during his illness. Connie loved her job, and made many life-long friends while there.

In her free time, Connie liked to play the lottery and watch Western movies. She enjoyed gardening, tending to their cattle, and cooking for her family. She had a very special love for her cats and dogs.

Connie is survived by children: Shawn Rue (Stephanie Deutschmann), Henry Martin (Cathy), William Martin (Laura), and Kim Luebrecht (Rob Brown); step-daughter, Brooke Boyd; grandchildren: Shawn Michael Rue (Shannon Gates), Logan Rue (Jordyn), RJ Branham (Allison), Elizabeth Martin (Andy Moore), Erica Fischer (Jason), Emily Martin (Collin Sizemore), Erin Martin (Alex Kim), Josh Martin (Crystal), Zach Martin (Carissa Landers), Ashley Mudd (Andrew), and Damon Luebrecht (Shelby); brothers, Herb Everett (Carolyn), Benny “Jerry” Everett (Carolyn), Ross Church, and Michael Church (Gabriele); sister, Bertha Prince (Jerry); and a large extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Ron; brother, “Bobby” Eric Everett; sister, Esther Rue; and step-sister, Bobbi Reid.
