During the more than two-year closure of Route 3 in Randolph County, Routes B, BB and D have seen a significant increase in traffic. Randolph County Presiding Commissioner Sid Conklin says the wear and tear on these roads is starting to show.
MoDOT plans to perform patching work on Route BB in 2027, but repairs for B and D are not currently scheduled. MoDOT Director Patrick McKenna says scheduled repairs could be moved up and added in the future.
About 70 residents filled the Westran Fire District building Monday night to express their ongoing concerns with MoDOT regarding delays in repairs to these roads. MoDOT hopes to begin repairs on the damaged section of Route 3 next summer.
