The Community Lady Trojan basketball team has high aspirations coming off a third place finish in Class 1 last season. Aside from the graduation of defensive specialists Taren Clark, and Delanie Windman, the team will return everyone from last year’s roster. Lady Trojans coach Bob Curtis believes Community’s depth will be just as good as last year.

Community will lean on seniors Natalie Thomas, Sadie Hoyt, Deann Brooks, and Delaney Bowers most of the season to provide the scoring. The team made its first Show-Me-Showdown appearance in school history and finished 27-3. Curtis shares some keys how the Lady Trojans can have another successful season.

Curtis explains why Community’s start to the season is key.

In addition to the third place finish, the Lady Trojans’ 27 victories was the most in program history, and they were also co-conference champions with Cairo in their first year in the Central Activities Conference.

You can hear more from Community coach Bob Curtis, and from other area coaches on the girls tip off show next Tuesday at 5:30pm on KRES.
