Columbia Police Make Arrests In Separate Shooting And Assault Incidents
A Columbia man has been arrested in connection to a shooting in the 2200 block of Clark Lane early this morning (Sat.). While conducting the investigation, officers were notified that a female victim with a non-life threatening gunshot wound had walked into a local emergency room. The Columbia Police Department identified the suspect as 28-year old Darrius L. Davis and he was arrested for domestic assault in the first degree, assault in the first degree, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence.
Columbia Police responded to the 100 block of Benton Street late Friday night for a report of an assault. Upon arrival officers located an adult female victim, who had sustained serious physical injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. The suspect was identified as 30-year old Travis D. Groce, of Columbia. At approximately 2am, officers located Groce in the 1100 block of Jewell Avenue and took him into custody for first degree domestic assault.
