A Columbia police officer has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after her SUV hit a four-year-old girl almost a year ago in the parking lot of Battle High School. Officer Andria Heese was trying to monitor students after school January 4th. Gabriella Curry was walking on the sidewalk at the time and got hit. Curry was pronounced dead at the hospital later. The City of Columbia had already paid a $3.4 million settlement to the girl’s family.
